Dangriga

26"x 30" Oil on Canvas
While I am finishing my current painting and fighting off a cold, I wanted to share with you a painting I did a few years back. This painting was done from a photograph. It is a painting of a village in Belize, Central America. Although I did not personally take this photo, it intrigued me quite a bit. I loved the colors of the shanties in this village. I also really liked the composition of this photo. When gazing at this painting or the photo for that matter, it suggests some sort of activity may take place. It's one of my favorites and was a gift to my husband. Enjoy!

I definately feel "Dangriga". To be honest, it looks like my great-grandmother's house in Moulton, Alabama. It no longer stands.

I sincerely feel as though I am there, within the delapidated fences and hanging shutters.

Keep up the good work. Trials and tribulations are meant to overcome.

Lisa -- beautiful painting! I really feel the bright sun, but you've contrasted the warm moments with such nice cool blues and greens. Can't wait to see what comes next!

Thanks for stopping by David. I am having a blast painting again. I believe the time of day in the painting was noon-ish making the sun high above in the sky, not a good time for shadows but it worked out!

I'm sorry Lisa,
My eyes must be failing. I'm spending too much time on the computer and not enough painting.
I'll link you up also.

Now that "Dangriga" is out there for the whole world to see and enjoy, the painting has suddenly become more "alive" for me, and I see it in a new way. I am happy that everyone can appreciate your artistic talents without having to come to the cabin.

And I'm very proud of what you have accomplished.

Love,

Charlie
